Our sales department is growing and we are looking for a Business & Sales Developer!

The primary function of the Business & Sales Developer is to sell specific life safety systems to new or existing customers.  Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are among the most important qualities we are looking for. Our sales engineers are an important link between new and existing clients, building managers, electricians, project managers, engineers, expediters and the AHJ, therefore the successful candidate will have the responsibility to successfully work and communicate with different professional reps day-to-day.

This would be an ideal role for someone who has engineering, mechanical or fire alarms/ARCS systems background, and is looking to utilize their technical knowledge in sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-sales assistance for sales opportunities to new and/or existing customers, including demonstrating and presenting FA & ARCS products and solutions.
  • Research technical requirements of FA & ARCS systems / Understand the customer’s needs and how to map these to a sales solution.
  • Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers.
  • Understanding the business benefits and technical aspects of FA/ARCS solutions and creating estimates.
  • Act as an interface between clients and technical staff to resolve outstanding issues on ongoing projects.
  • Oversee all ongoing projects.
  • Provide reports and feedback on customers’ accounts and ongoing projects to management, accounting, project managers, field technicians, expediters and engineers.
  • Set goals and manage sales & project expectations with management and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and execute sales and ongoing projects in a methodical and professional manner.

Installing a new life safety system or upgrading an existing one is a demanding process. It requires careful design, estimating, planning, installing, pretesting, expediting until the final inspection and approval.

We are currently seeking experienced professionals that will work with project managers assisting with primary functions and responsibilities including -but not limited to- configuring, installing, troubleshooting, programming life safety systems.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Wiring using RF Coax Cable and connectors
  • Install ARCS systems
  • Troubleshoot, test and pretest ARCS systems
  • Perform system inspections
  • Complete job reports on time, including service reports, inventory log, time sheets and weekly expense reports.
  • Complete all job assignments on time and work in a manner that will exceed customer expectation
  • Attend service calls
  • On-call for emergency service calls.
  • Replace system components.
  • Inform management the status of service in order to take appropriate action.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Attend training and obtain NICET certification

Qualifications:

  • Previous proven experience in ARCS systems or other related RF (BDA) fields.
  • Read and interpret prints, diagrams, schematics, specifications, system programs, and operational manuals in order to understand the requirements to properly service, inspect, or install equipment.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with customers and associates.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic electrical and/or fire alarm knowledge-
  • Ability to report to various job sites in New York City.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills – documenting test results and repairs in service log, complete service reports and to coordinate with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Competency with hand tools – must be able to handle tools safely and efficiently.

Additional qualifications that will be considered as a plus:

  • Marconi Technologies experience and/or certification.
  • Possessing NICET fire protection certification

The position consists of planning, initiating, and managing ongoing life safety system projects. It also consists of leading and guiding the work of technicians, electricians, engineers, expeditors and the AHJ, serving as the liaison between business and technical aspects of projects, planning project stages, and monitoring progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.

Excellent communication, problem-solving skills and solid work ethic are among the most important qualities we are looking for.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing and directing work for ongoing life safety system projects. Supervising progress of installation, pretesting, inspection, final approval.
  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation.
  • Develop and manage structure of projects to stay ahead of the project schedule.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and set timeline to project personnel.
  • Enforce compliance to project management best practices.
  • Establish and execute a project communication plan.
  • Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintain adherence to quality standards.
  • Participate in project management meetings.
  • Handle change orders.
  • Act as an interface between clients and technical staff to resolve outstanding issues on ongoing projects.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Although County Fire offers full training for this position, the successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
  • Understanding the business benefits and technical aspects of Fire Alarm systems.

  • Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options and implement solutions;
  • Ability to monitor or assess the performance of the team and suggest improvements or take corrective action.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Time management skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a project manager or a related field.

Preferred Certifications

  • NICET Certification

  • Attend service calls

  • Previous proven experience in Low Voltage systems or other related fields, security cameras, intercoms, nurse call stations, door bell and conferencing and phone systems.
